CHALLENGES
Our client uses Cerner’s FirstNet clinical application within its emergency departments nationwide to process patient profiles, charts and place orders. Optimizing workflow and minimizing completion time are paramount to ensure patient safety and satisfaction. Our client manager was challenged with finding skilled registered nurse consultants who were familiar with the emergency department and could communicate effectively with physicians and staff across all facilities regarding application updates and changes.
SOLUTIONS
Odyssey assembled a team of certified registered nurses with Cerner FirstNet implementation expertise. The team was responsible for FirstNet workflow analysis, design, testing, training and support in multi-site implementations.
Travel for Site Training
Our FirstNet team travels more than 75 percent of the time in order to ensure our client has enough expertise at any location that needs additional workflow analysis, training or application updates.
Curriculum Design/Training
In many cases, our team has worked with our client to help design and develop training curriculum that is distributed to the clinical staff. During go-live events, our team provides on-site support as the applications are deployed into production.
Cerner Point of Contact
During go-live events, our team serves as the primary point of contact to communicate with Cerner to ensure the implementation goes as planned and is available if needed for any triage or troubleshooting.
RESULTS
Since the project began in 2014, our team of registered nurse consultants continues to support the client and has developed a strong level of trust and comfort with the hospital physicians and nursing staff.
