The Odyssey Information Services sales team recently had the pleasure of undergoing an in-depth sales training with Julian Placino, Recruiting Lead at Bottle Rocket Apps and creator of the very popular podcast heard around the world, Pathways to Success. Julian shared his journey with us in the staffing industry, from both an agency and corporate perspective, to give our team unique sales tools for going after and attracting new business that will then lead us into long-term, trusted partnerships with our clients.
Julian shared a lot of valuable information with us, from both his own experiences and from his interactions and interviews with high performing entrepreneurs, best-selling authors, and progressive thought leaders across all industries. Their collective knowledge really helped us understand the pain points that companies and hiring managers face today, so we can identify our clients’ needs and add value to their recruiting and hiring processes. In between training periods, we also met regularly to discuss personal and team goals, set up step by step action plans, and gauge our weekly progress as we applied various sales strategies taught throughout previous weeks.
We discussed several topics and strategies during the course of our 3-month training, and one of our team’s favorite sessions was on personal branding, where we examined each person’s strengths, passions and inherent gifts that make us stand out among our peers and competitors. Taking an introspective look at ourselves and identifying our drivers and motivators, Julian showed us how each person’s individuality is the greatest asset we have when connecting with business leaders and gaining new business.
Julian grabbed our attention from the very beginning with his breadth of knowledge, passion, creativity, authenticity, and enthusiasm. He is a great leader with the true desire to help us all become the best versions of ourselves. This journey has not only helped us in our careers and as a team, but we’ve also discovered the unique qualities we bring to our personal relationships outside of the workplace.
Thank you, Julian, for your time and this invaluable experience. Odyssey is excited to have you back later this year to work with our recruiting team!
