Q: What do you enjoy most about working here, or in your role specifically?


A: What I enjoy most about working at Odyssey is that I truly love what I do. In my business development role, I’m trusted to build relationships and grow the business in my own way while helping clients solve real staffing challenges.


Being able to support clients with solutions that make a meaningful difference is what motivates me every day and makes the role both challenging and fulfilling.


Q: In your opinion, what sets Odyssey apart from other staffing and recruiting companies?


A: What sets Odyssey apart is our relationship-driven approach. We take the time to truly understand our clients’ needs and challenges rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions. That level of care and follow-through builds long-term partnerships, not just placements.


Q: Can you share a memorable story or milestone from your time at Odyssey?


A: A memorable moment for me at Odyssey was our holiday party. It was a great opportunity to step back after a busy year and celebrate how hard everyone worked. Seeing the team come together, relax, and genuinely enjoy each other’s company really reinforced the strong sense of camaraderie and appreciation we have here.


Q: What would you say is your “sweet spot” or niche within staffing?


A: My sweet spot is healthcare staffing. I love knowing that the work we do directly supports hospitals and patient care. Being able to help facilities find the talent they need and knowing it plays a role in helping patients receive quality care is what makes this niche so meaningful to me.


Q: What trends are you currently seeing in the Houston job market?


A: Houston’s job market remains active, with strong demand in both healthcare and IT. We’re seeing companies prioritize IT roles in areas like cybersecurity, infrastructure, and data as technology becomes more critical to day-to-day operations. Overall, employers are focused on securing experienced, specialized talent and staying competitive in a fast-moving market.


Q: What’s the best piece of professional advice you’ve received, or that you would give to someone just starting out?


A: The best professional advice I’ve received is that hard work always pays off. If you stay consistent, put in the effort, and don’t take shortcuts, the results will come over time. Good things don’t come easy.
