Snow Day Feb 2010

Odyssey and all of the Dallas area had a snow day on Friday February 12th 2010.  With over 12 inches falling over a twenty-four hour period, the Dallas area received more snow then we had seen in 30+ years.

When you call Odyssey, chances are April is answering the phone at Odyssey.  She has the thankless job of trying to keep track of us when we are out of our offices. Background testing process for consulting and supplemental staffing engagements:

Recruiting methods:
Network with current and previous consultants, employee referrals and project manager referrals. We check references, technical phone screens, skills sheet evaluations, resume review, understand candidate’s expectations, meet the potential hires, obtain feed back from client interviews, cover offer, deliver offer and schedule acceptable start date with both client and consultant. We consider our best source to be referrals. Other sources include: contractor responses to advertisements, internet, call-ins and project manager recommendations.

Screening methodologies:
The screening process begins with qualifying the consultant. All referrals and references are checked. After a thorough phone screening, personal interviews are conducted and in many cases an internal senior staff consultant conducts a technical screen.

Offsite Interviews:
We offer offsite interview facilities to our clients to keep the hiring process confidential.

Retention:
Odyssey has been able to keep turnover to a minimum through carefully developed processes.  We offer a very competitive benefit package, which includes 401K matching and a very generous vesting period. Our full-time Human Resource representative does a frequent follow-up with the consultants to ensure expectations are met. We have several dedicated fulltime accounting professionals for payroll and billing.
